Protecting the public from international drug traffickers is not the first thing that comes to mind when people think about security seals. In fact, that is an often overlooked but very significant feature of our products.
Most people think of security seals as designed to make sure that no one removes anything or tampers with the protected contents. But security seals also serve to ensure that no one tries to hide anything or smuggle anything inside a shipment.
Just last week, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped a commercial truck trying to smuggle an estimated $3 million in cocaine Saturday into Canada. Officers believe the driver is part of a large international drug trafficking organization.
The driver and his contraband were readily detected because the seal on the rear of the trailer did not match the seal number on the manifest. The suspect admitted to cutting the [original] security seal off the trailer - because it's the security seal that ensures the integrity of the shipment.

CSS supplies a variety of tamper-evident truck seals that both protect the cargo from theft and sabotage while safeguarding the shipment from those who would use it for nefarious purposes. All shippers should utilize serialized or customized seals as part of a standardized protocol that ensures the integrity and safety of their products as well as the security of the vehicle or container.
